Victoria Bridge Abutment and Memorial Review

On the south side of the actual Victoria Bridge, a bridge over the site's second permanent bridge has been left as a heritage site, built of stone and iron, replacing Brisbane's first and oldest bridge, which was destroyed by floodwaters. Its own end came in 1969, when it was demolished to make room for real bridges due to increased traffic, and the latest Victoria Bridge was open to motorists, pedestrians and cyclists and lit up at night. Since I walked, I have preferred two pure pedestrian bridges on both sides: Kirupa and Goodwill.
