The Wannian Temple is one of the oldest ancient temples in Mount Emei. It was founded in Jin and called Puxian Temple. When Tang Dynasty, it was renamed Baishui Temple and Song Dynasty was Baishui Puxian Temple. The Ming Dynasty emperor Zhu Ying's imperial title "Shengshou Wannian Temple" is referred to as Wannian Temple. Built in Ming Wanli 28 years (1600), the beamless brick hall (P5), is the temple of Emperor Wanli for his mother's birthday. The hall is17.12 meters high, with a semicircular hollow dome on the top and a square base on the bottom, shaped like a yurt, symbolizing the round place. On the four walls of the hall, Wan Buddha surrounds. In the center of the temple, there is a bronze-cast white elephant lotus statue of Puxian Bodhisattva, weighing about 62 tons. The temple's "Hangyuan Building" is dedicated to the three treasures of the town temple: Buddha teeth, Bayeux Jing and Wanli Jinyin. Major Buddhist events and memorial festivals are only displayed.
