The Great Buddha Pagoda Temple (also known as Chidilong Temple or Chari Luan Temple) is the most famous temple in the urban area of Chiang Mai. It's a very large building complex. The sacred and solemn pagoda, built in 1411, is nearly 80 meters tall. The pagoda is carved with delicate pagoda-guarding spiritual snakes on all sides and six elephant sculptures on the pagoda. Although not the original building (which was destroyed in the great earthquake of the 16th century), it can also be seen that it was quite spectacular. There are many buildings in the temple. There are two halls behind the Buddhist pagoda. In the middle of the hall, there is a wax figure of a monk dressed in charisma. His eyes are bright and lifelike. The environment inside the temple is very tidy, many flowers and plants are planted, with a faint fragrance. Tall trees prove the very ancient history here. People hang their wishes on the trees and pray for the protection of Buddha.
