Lanka Temple is one of the five oldest temples in Phnom Penh. It is located in the southwest of the Independence Memorial and was built in 1422. Built by King Ponhea Yat (1405-1467). The earliest functions were the learning and conference centers for Khmer and Sri Lankan monks. After being seriously destroyed in the Khmer Rouge era, it was rebuilt in 1882 to vividly reproduce the frescoes and bright ground of the Buddha's image.
