Palmahatai Temple, also known as Dayi Temple, is one of the earliest Khmer-style pagodas built in the city. Fire separates the head of the Buddha. A banyan tree grows next to the head of the Buddha on the ground. A spreading and strong root gently holds the head of the Buddha. With the growth of the big tree, the head of the Buddha gradually grows taller. The tree and the head of the Buddha merge into one and cannot be separated.
