旺阿努伊地区在新西兰北岛的西南侧，曾经是一个繁华的码头，不安努伊和开通蒸汽轮之后，这里曾经一度非常的繁忙，成了商业的中枢地区，现在码头衰落之后，倒是有玻璃制造业替代了码头业，原来的码头也改成了玻璃工坊旺阿努伊河的风景非常漂亮，旁边有汪阿努伊公路，也是全新西兰非常知名的一条观景公路，路不算很长，沿途走大概一个小时就可以开完，只是在公路上旁边草长太高了，要停下车来，在旁边才能看到河景，万努力和最常规的玩法是划船，这也是新西兰七大徒步路线中为一条河上的船布线
