The stone-brick road in front of the gate of Lhasa's Xiaozhao Temple is called Xiaozhao Temple Road. It is a pedestrian street in the north and south, connecting Linkuo North Road and Beijing East Road. The pedestrian street is not long, the area is four or five hundred meters, but on both sides are a variety of shops, selling local products and crafts, and the building along the road retains a strong Tibetan style, the sense of vision is very unique.

The temple, located about 500 meters north of Barkhor Street in Lhasa, was built in 641 (the Tibetan calendar and the Year of the Ox) in the middle of the 7th century. It was built by Princess Wencheng. The existing building area of the temple is 4,000 square meters. The temple mainly serves the 8-year-old statue of Sakyamuni and many precious cultural relics. Therefore, in 1962, it was announced by the State Council as a key cultural relics protection unit at the autonomous region level, and in 2001 it was listed as a key cultural relics protection unit nationwide.
