The Israel Holocaust Memorial was officially established in Israel to commemorate the six million Jews who died in German concentration camps in World War II. Yad Vashem means “memorial, fame” in Hebrew, and is derived from the Bible. There is a memorial hall, a history museum, a gallery, a name hall, an archive, a synagogue, an education center and a "valley of devastation for communities".
