Yavari is named after the Yavarí River in Peru, and docked quietly on the shore of Lake Titca, a legendary vessel of Puno. Built in 1860 and launched in 1870, the ship was a comprehensive supply ship for guns, people and goods ordered by the Peruvian Navy to the Birmingham shipyard in Britain.
