My husband and I were in town from Wisconsin staying for business in the Hyde Park area. We stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant that reminded us of outstanding restaurants in Italy. The food is superb and the service is outstanding, making you feel like "family." We were there on a Friday evening around 7:00pm and it was still quiet enough to have good conversation..... A rarity in dining today. If we happen to return to this neighborhood again, we will be back. We will also be recommending Piccolo Mondo to others.

    We came in for a reception after my nephews 1st communion. There were 36 of us. The waitstaff was beyond amazing. They didn't miss a beat. Soooooo attentive. The food was excellent. This is the kind of italian restaurant that you saw in Moonstruck. No one left hungry or disappointed. Excellent restaurant.

    My wife and I come to Chicago each year to visit with friends and when we do we always make it a point to dine at Piccolo Mondo because the food is terrific and the ambiance is perfect for a leisurely visit with friends. We have eaten Italian food at fine restaurants in Washington, NY, San Francisco and throughout Italy and Piccolo Mondo compares favorably with the best of these, especially the seafood dishes which are outstanding. And the value is unbeatable!
