Food and drinks were late for over 30 min and when I asked why, the waiter waved his hand at me saying "we are too busy!". Even when I reported such rude reply to the manager he said the same with no single sign of respect to a customer. I had to ask for a refund which was done as requested. It's us who are making them busy and we deserve a respectful service in return. Don't recommend at all.

It's been a few years since we've eaten at Spoon. The coffee is still good, service was fine. Our meals were ok too. So quite a good spot for a quick bite before the movies. Nothing fancy but ok

This used to be one of my favourite spots but sadly on a return visit to Brisbane I had to go back and was disappointed by staff food and a general rundown appearance no longer a deli section and cabinet food ho hum!

The Spoon Deli at the James Street Market in New Farm is pleasant enough. There is inside and undercover outside eating areas, an extensive breakfast and lunch menu, a selection of premade fresh salads, sandwiches, lasanges etc and a small range of deli type foods. Food is ordered and pre-paid at the counter but delivered to your table. My friend had coffee and a smoothie and seemed happy enough with that and shared some almond biscuits which I purchased in one of their take away containers as we didn't want a big serve of cake. The biscuits were moist and tasty. I purchased a chai which was okay and a tapas sized dish of meat balls on a yoghurt/cucumber base and a serving of rice about the size of two egg cups. The tapas was okay but nothing special.
