Spike Bar Review

Visited this bar for the first time in nearly a year and was pleasantly surprised. Since my last visit they have built a huge new bar and kitchen on the terrace which looks awesome (hundreds of golf balls studded in the counter) and had draught options available and a pizza oven. I had the Shepherds Pie and thoroughly enjoyed it - portion is good for 2 I would say - very filling. My friends had a selection of pan pizzas which they said were great. Service was very friendly and efficient and the manager passed by to check on us which was a nice touch. Nice atmosphere on the terrace and moved inside to watch the Champions League semis - good spot for drinks and good food at decent prices comapared to usual Dubai rates...will be back.

Spikes Bar is really convenient after a game of golf or a hit on the driving range. A bit of a secret on Thursday night. The buffet and A La Carte menu are great, throw in some live music and outdoor heaters and it's a nice relaxed evening. I love the steak it's a winner!!! The service staff are generally very good and helpful. Breakfast is ok it could be better, the Buffett breakfast is all day but it's pretty limited. The A La Carte breakfast finishes early I always seem to miss that. The all day breakfast is on the general menu that's pretty standard. Ask for alternative bread the bread they provide with the breakfast is like cardboard. Overall I like Spikes and will keep returning it meets my golfing food needs but it could potentially be amazing with a few tweaks of the breakfast menu.

We arrived at Spikes during Happy Hour, asked what beers were available, was given a few options and ordered 3 rounds before 7pm. When the bill came, no reduction ad been given for Happy Hour, when we queried the bill we were told that none of the beers we ordered were included in Happy Hour. Tables not cleared when patrons left, ordered 4 meals, 2 arrived and we had to wait 5 minutes for the other 2. Plate stayed on table for 15 minutes before being cleared. Despite being asked to leave my name and number for the Manger to call the following day, I am still waiting 4 days later. First and last visit
