Cove Bar & Dining Review

Unfortunately I stumbled across this place because of its location, but if I had seen it's reviews then would not have taken the risk. Arrived at 415pm asked to see a menu not knowing if it's a place that may serve simple bar food or what? Or if it is just a dinner menu how long will it be when the kitchen is open? Do people still come out early and have a couple of drinks prior to dinner? One of the female waitresses stated in a emotionless monotone robotic way... We aren't serving dinner at the moment guys...They then directed us to another part of the restaurant but the funny thing was is they then brang us a menu to view because if your going there for a drink you order it from the same menu. The menu we couldn't see because the kitchen wasn't open. Some times I feel like telling people in this industry what would be the more appropriate way to communicate with the customer. Like maybe someone wants to see the menu and will return later? Or is it completely illogical that someone is coming for a drink first and then will just order once the kitchen opens in 40 mins? Sometimes in Australia it's the location of a place that will determine how good or how bad the customer service will be. If it's in a popular location then usually the service will drop dramatically because they are aware that no matter what, they will always have customers.
