One member of our family MUST eat gluten-free. Why most Asian food can be prepared gluten-free, one must always watch out for the soy sauce which is usually made from wheat. We visited Makai's twice (it was that good). The two chefs we worked with both demonstrated a clear understanding of how to safely prepare a fabulous sushi roll with no risk of cross-contamination from gluten. The rolls are fresh and fabulous. We had both spicy Ahi tuna and California rolls. We highly recommend a quick stop to visit Matt at Makai. You will not regret it. It is inside a small grocery store. There really is no seating. Be prepared to get it to go.
