Ristorante Greppia Review

4 days spent in lovely Verona, the last hunting down and treating ourselves to good traditional Italian restaurant, and we found it here. It's the quality of the food thats excellent, and a location off the beating track. After eating in the tourist lanes we were disappointed, poor service, cold side dishes etc., The food here is A1+, even our Hotel barman new of this as frequented by the locals.

It feels really traditional here, and we dare not order some dishes. It is still a bit challenging.

The restaurant offers northern Italian standard fare. But where they excel is with their unique dishes. The ravioli was excellent. For an entrée my wife had the salmon tartar. I had the langoustine. Both dishes were excellent. The service was spotty. Our waiter had an attitude but that was compensated by a roving staff member that attended to our needs.

We are from Verona, we reserved a place the day before asking for a specific table (in person), explaining that it was a special occasion. When we arrived they said they had forgotten about our reservation and had given it to another group. The food took forever to arrive, was overpriced, and was not as good as other restaurants in the area. It's a nice atmosphere but when there are lots of people they clearly have organizational issues. One out of three plates were good, the rest were mediocre.
