What people are saying:

Built by the Italians in the 1930s, it looks like a ship, its features are curved arcs, round windows like the ship’s porthole, and different floors. It was originally an aquatic biology research institute, changed to an aquarium in 1963, and is also a research unit of the Greek Marine Research Center. The basement is designed as an underwater cave, and various oceans unique to the Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean are displayed in glass boxes of various sizes. There are sea eels, eels, turtles, gilthead sea bream, red sea bream (common sea bream), trigger fish, sea bass, gorgeous dragon wrasse, octopus, coral, and sea anemone. In the aquarium, I saw a unique fish, Ladi redfish, which is an endangered species unique to the rivers and lakes of Rhode Island.
