What people are saying:

Created on a landfill that extends into Guanabara Bay, the long serpentine park remains one of Rio's prime green spaces, and is sprinkled with football fields, grassy lawns, tree-lined paths, outdoor concert halls, monuments, museums and several scenic beaches (which are fine for strolling along, but not clean enough for swimming). Brazilian landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx, best known for his contributions to Brasília, designed the 296-acre park. One of the best times to visit is on Sundays, when the avenues through the park close to traffic, and cyclists, joggers and inline skaters rule the roads.

    Perfect for biking

In my opinion it's best to go along the aterro by bike! The views are beautiful! I would avoid the place after dark since it might not be super safe.

An amazing place that will definitely delight you. I recommend a bike ride by the sea. There is a station for lease near there.
