I'm here. The church is quiet. The pastor speaks Italian very clearly and slowly. Now the church was founded in 1588. The church held the earliest painting exhibition dedicated to Virgin Lourdes, which dates back to 1873. You will also see the frescoes of the fourteenth century.

This 6th century church is plain looking from the street, but gorgeous and peaceful inside. A great place to take a break from the gritty bustle outside. The elaborate gold ceiling details, the artistically simple but colorful floors, the beautiful paintings and frescos and the ancient columns that had savaged for this building combine to impress but not overwhelm. Great views from both the steep, marble staircase in the front and the smaller piazza in back. Don't miss going inside, if the stairs are too daunting, enter via Piazza del Campidoglio. Well worth it!
If you can make it quickly up the stairs in front of Santa Maria in Aracoeli, you deserve a grande pausa inside. On a hot day, it's a daunting climb, but know that you'll be rewarded with a great view from the top. The church itself is quite pretty. I found myself spending a good amount of time inside (partly also because I was so tired). Be sure to look for the santo bambino in the back. This figure (currently a reproduction) was said to have performed miracles...
The Basilica of S. Mary Of the Altar of Heaven is located over Campidoglio. There is a wondeurful long stone stair to reach. This position underlines its importance as The Church of the City Council of Rome.
