The Broken Ship Fountain is located in the middle of the Spanish square. It is a very famous and very old fountain in Italy, and it is also one of the fountains with less water flow in Rome. Legend has it that it was built to commemorate the great flood in Rome in 1598. The Broken Ship Fountain is half submerged in water, which is very different from other fountains. The elegant-looking Broken Ship Fountain was actually remodeled by Bernini's father, Pietro Bernini. The original fountain was small and inconspicuous, and the water pressure was low, so even the water in the fountain was small.
