What people are saying:

King William Historic District Located on the south bank of the San Antonio River in San Antonio, Texas, this block is the most elegant residential area in San Antonio at the end of the 19th century. Many outstanding German businessmen lived here. It is also the first historic district in Texas. Because of the presence of galleries and high-end restaurants, it has gradually become a fashionable community and a major tourist attraction in San Antonio. The main historical buildings here are marked on the door signs, and you can also get some information from the visitor center at the intersection of Madison and Turner Streets. There are not many pedestrians in this area, and the atmosphere is quiet. The courtyards on both sides are lush and lush. A large number of buildings (Victorian, Queen Anne, etc.) from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century are erected one after the other or old or young, which is very pleasing to the eye.

    Worth the drive around.

The neighborhood is just 1/2 mile from downtown. It has easy access and the homes are beautiful. The Guenther house/ museum was closed at the time because of COVID. Call ahead.
