It was worth the deviation on the trip. We were on a road trip from Providence, RI to Detroit, MI. I had already done the trip via Niagara Falls (commonly recommended on Google). We decided to take the slightly southern route. The scenery through the Adirondacks was simply gorgeous. The Falls itself have a lot of hiking grounds. So for those that can -- bring your hiking shoes and venture forth all the way down. For seniors, there is a lookout post about 15 minutes walk from the parking spot where you can take in the view from the top of the falls.
