Interesting to see. Very cool area but not something I would of been upset had we not gone by.
Super cool design and architecture. Very artsy and unique area that is definitely worth visiting.
The Mecca of Hippie culture! Rock & Roll and Revolution are still very much in the air.
I rented an AirBnB in the area and it was within walking distance of all the shops on Haight, Buena Vista and Golden State Parks. I have really enjoyed my time in this area. There is plenty of unique shops, bars, pleasant people, and delicious eateries. I especially enjoyed the food at ChaChaCha and The Citrus Club. There are some homeless, but they're not aggressive. You may however, smell some "herbal essence" while walking on Haight Street and may be offered to buy some "Cookie" or "Purple" something. JUST SAY NO!
Great neighborhood to walk around and experience in SF! History of this neighborhood is cool. Funky shops and restaurants.
Hipster central!! Great places to shop, eat and drink. Full of cute local jazz places.
The district that's the birth place of counterculture. Hike up from the lower Haight and feel inspired by the individuality. There are plenty of original shops here, you can lose hours just browsing; the streets itself has no lack of character, the decorations and street arts are there to impress all.
Fun and funky started here in 1967 with the beginning of the Peace and Love movement. Great place for Teens and hip young at heart types. Funky little shops with unique items. Unfortunately, there is quite a homeless presences but hopefully it will not taint the experience. Eat at Ploy Thai for great Thai food or Cha cha cha for amazing sangria and Cuban food. At night, there are many cool bars and clubs that have local acts performing.
The Haight is such a fun neighborhood to explore. There are boutique shops, a handful of good restaurants, and a lot of local flavor.
