The Teatro Colon, the principle musical drama house in Buenos Aires, Argentina, opened on May 25, 1908, with Giuseppe Verdi's musical drama Ada. The performance center was planned by Charles Pellegrini and its design reflects the Italian Renaissance. The inside of the auditorium is extremely lavish with expand plaster mouldings, a recolored glass arch, French decorations and a vainglorious ceiling fixture in the theater hall. The hall of the venue has 2,487 seats and standing space for 1,000 more. The acoustics of the Teotro Colon are viewed as a portion of the best on the planet. From October 2006 to May 2010 the venue was shut for remodels.
