Bongwonsa Temple, easy to access in the middle of Seoul!!! You can walk about 15 minutes from Ahyeon by going up to Ansan.
The small temple is quiet and elegant.
Bongwonsa Temple is located in Ansan (Mountain). This is the head temple of the Taego Order of Korean Buddhism. It's easy to get to from the hiking trails of Ansan and nearby neighborhoods.
A working temple and home of the Taegyo order of Korean Buddhism, this temple on the side of Mt. Ansan (a small mountain in central Seoul) is seldom visited by tourists, but the setting and temple buildings are lovely. After visiting, hike 20 minutes up the hill through woods to the lookout at the top of Mt. Ansan: the views over the city are spectacular.
If you like to explore the ancient temples, you must come here. In fact, there are quite a lot of temples in Seoul. This is a bit different from my stereotype of Korea. In many temples, the temple of Baiwensha must not be the most famous one. Even the staff of the visitor center do not necessarily know, nor will they take the initiative to recommend it to you. He was not specifically marked on the local tourist map. But he is really a peaceful place worth visiting with a sense of history. Route recommendation: Although it is not a popular attraction, the traffic is quite convenient. Take the subway aluminum line green line island sincheon (Xincun) station at exit 3 take bus 7024 to bongwonsa station about 15 minutes to reach the temple in Bayonsha. The temple is located in the picturesque mountains, it is on a small hillside, surrounded by dense forests, across the river from the center of Seoul, the scenery is very beautiful, the temple is actually quite small. It was important in the 18th century, and it is said to have been located in the current location of Yanshi University, and later relocated to its current location. It is also a very historical building, and there are some artifacts in the column, an ancient bronze bell and wood panel paintings are very interesting, the temple door has large and small Buddha statues, arranged in a row. Every statue has a vivid character and is very clever, and if you like to explore the ancient temples, this must be a very good choice. If the time to go is summer, the lotus in the lotus pond here is in full bloom, and the scenery here is even more delicious. The small mountain roads around the temple are also worth visiting, and it is also a good place to hike.
