Sha County Travel Guide
Sha County, also known as Jinsha County, is located in the north of central Fujian Province and is under the administration of Sanming City. Sha County is famous throughout China for its snacks, but apart from its variety of local foods, there are actually also many scenic and historical sites to enjoy here, including a reclining Buddha carved from the mountain, the Tang dynasty Xingguo Temple, the mountain stronghold of Deng Maoqi (leader of a peasant uprising during the Ming dynasty), and the Town God’s Temple which dates from the Qing dynasty. The natural landscape offers unique scenic spots in which volcanoes and karst landforms sit side by side, including Dayou Mountain, Qixian Cave, Songbai Rock, and the Lufeng Mountain Scenic Area.
