Petaling's Divine Gem: Mariamman Temple
Location: Sri Maha Mariamman Temple
Jalan Tun H S Lee, City Centre, 50000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
In Kuala Lumpur's vibrant heart I tread,
To Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, I'm led,
A sacred place where history's tale is told,
Of devotion and faith, ancient and bold.
In the bustling streets of Petaling's embrace,
Stands this Hindu Temple, a hallowed place,
With roots that reach to the 19th century's start,
It's a testament to culture and faith in every part.
Sri Maha Mariamman, an ode to the divine,
A shrine to Goddess Mariamman, so benign,
Her blessings sought by many, from far and near,
In this temple, where devotees gather, year after year.
Its ornate gopuram, a masterpiece so grand,
With vibrant colors, it seems to touch the sky's expanse,
Carved gods and goddesses in intricate array,
Welcome visitors, guiding them in prayer each day.
Within its sacred walls, serenity does reside,
The fragrance of incense, devotion, and pride,
Amidst chanting and rituals, a spiritual dance,
A glimpse into a culture's enduring romance.
I, a traveler, in awe of this sacred site,
Amidst Petaling's bustling, a radiant light,
Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, a jewel to behold,
A testament to history and devotion, stories untold.

The Indian temple is an important temple for local Indians. There are many Indian communities throughout the place. It is also a very important city for Indians to work. The fireworks in the Indian temple are very strong, which may be the reason why people like religion more.
Looking up at the eaves and towers that require a little care and energy, I can't help but feel a moment of admiration. The temple coincided with prayers, with a burst of exotic music, and the music that spread seemed to penetrate through the richness of spices, into the nose, and into the brain. Two temple guards part-time cashiers monitor whether each person entering the temple is barefoot. Wearing shoes is disrespectful to the gods, and store shoes for MYR 2 per person. There are many wreaths selling this special to the gods around the temple, which are different in size.
South of Jalan Hang Lekir, tucked away on Jalan Tun HS Lee, is the extravagantly decorated Sri Mahamariamman Temple. Incorporating Spanish and Italian tiles, precious stones and gold in its design, KL’s main Hindu temple is an incongruous sight situated between two Buddhist temples at the edge of Chinatown
This temple very popular among India traveller and some overseas travellers. This temple very welcome traveller go inside to pray and take photo for memories when visit china town Kuala Lumpur. After renovations after December 2023, very beautiful and colourful. Can visit when go china town Kuala lumpur
Ticket-free, a typical South Indian style temple. Located in the vicinity of Cichang Street, we came across Cichang Street by chance. The characteristic buildings attracted us. There is a tall tower at the entrance of the temple, which is full of sculptures of various figures, vivid in form and bright in color. When you enter the temple, you have to take off your shoes. Someone keeps watch at the door. It costs 2 cents.
To enter the temple, you need to spend 0.2RM/person to store shoes in a small window nearby, and then enter the temple barefoot. This Hindu temple is the largest and most magnificent Hindu temple in Malaysia. There are many hand-painted patterns and sculptures in it. The whole temple is very magnificent. I especially like this sculpture of the main building, especially religious feeling. Unfortunately, the mobile phone can't show that kind of exquisite details. Basically, there will be such temples in places where there are Indians, in Chinatown. It's still very good.
Indian temple is the largest and most luxurious Indian temple in Malaysia. It is said that it was built in 1837. It is made of high-grade ceramic tiles imported from Italy and Spain. No wonder it is colorful from the outside. The temple is full of paintings or statues of different figures or immortals. It is very worthwhile to see, without tickets. Haha.
