EMI Small Building/March of the Volunteers (the former site of EMI) was built in 1921. This house is called "Little Red House" in Shanghai because of its red tile roof and red brick walls. The early owners of the house were two French businessmen. In the 1930s, it was acquired by the French Oriental EMI (EMI). In 1934, Nie Er served as director of the company's music department.
