The Zilin Xibao Building was completed in 1923 and was the tallest building on the Bund that year. The predecessor of the Zilin Xibao was the English-language Beihuajie newspaper, which was founded on August 30, 1850, and is now the American Affiliate Insurance Company. I went in once, the building outside was very upright, the inside was small and messy.

It was once the largest foreign news and publishing institution in Shanghai, the Zilin Xibao Hall. The company officially renovated in 1998 and changed its name to the "Friendship Building". The facade of the building is divided into three levels. The first floor is affixed with rough stones; The second floor is painted with cement; the third floor is flanked by a wedge coupon window, with an elegant tower top, showing the changes in architecture and the symmetry and harmony of Renaissance art.

The Bund Bull is a symbol of Shanghai Bund Financial Plaza, a bronze cow statue weighing 2.5 tons, 5.2 meters long and 3.2 meters high. The bronze cow is a symbol of "strength and courage", which means that as long as the copper cow is there, the stock market can always protect the "bull" market.

Zilin Xibao Building, also known as Guilin Building, is located at No. 17 Zhongshan East Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai. It belongs to the national key cultural relics protection unit "Bund Building Complex", and is also an excellent modern building protection unit in Shanghai, which is now used by the United States AI Insurance Company.
