Very family friendly environment. Tens of big and small hotels around the area. Restaurants and coffee shops in every corner. (You wont starve at all)... Life's a beach in Huizhou, Double Moon Bay.Resort life, the ultimate summer experience. About 160km east of Shenzhen, Huizhou is littered with resort hotels. It took us about 2 hours to get there by car with a pit stop on the way. We went to Double Moon Bay (双月湾), Huidong, where there are enough activities such as quad biking on the beach, jetskiing, parasailing and more, so you will never be bored. If you prefer a quiet stay, the resort we stayed at, the Grand Barony Hotel, is big enough for this too. You can lounge poolside for hours with a book, while soaking up the sun and taking a dip in the pool. All the rooms have amazing sea views which are great for sipping a drink on your balcony Our hotel had 3 pool areas. The infinity pool was very popular but you can easily have a pool to yourself if you choose one of the others. The pools are not very deep and don't expect to be doing laps as they're for leisure, not laps. The breakfast was generous, with a standard mix of Chinese and Western food. Lunch and dinner options outside the hotel were limited; there are many local restaurants but the offerings were basically the same - seafood and barbecue. There were a few small coffee shops which were a welcome option. At night there were fireworks, bonfires and other activities on the beach and we found a delightful little bar about 200m from our hotel on the beach, where we enjoyed chicken wings and french fries and they also serve some decent cocktails and fresh juices. The ambience was great with lovely music, and cute bright seating on the beach. I wish we had more time to enjoy this spot. There was one downside, the beach was not too clean. The tide brought in lots of pollution from somewhere and the cleaners had a hard time raking out the rubbish, trying to keep the beach clean. Double moon bayWe drove from Shenzhen to Shuangyuebay in about two hours and stayed for one night. The weather was not on our side with a lot of wind and rain in the air. The area is called double moon bay if translated into English because of the shape of the area with sea on both sides that you can see from above. Beautiful sandy beaches. We started by going up to the peak to see the overview of the bay and it was super cool. It is a bit of a walk from the parking area so we paid 40 for a guy to take us up and down on his moped. The view from the top was Fantastic and an absolute must see if you are in the area. After the peak we went to the turtle bay nature reserve. They have a beautiful sea walk and lots of big turtles. After turtle bay we went to the beach and visited one of the surfer places. Not much activity but there was someone learning how to kite. The beach was absolutely awesome and I can imagine the place is super nice in the summer month. I definitely want to come back. Insta-Worthy Huizhou LocationsI went on a day trip to Double Moon Bay to soak up some Sunrays and get some content! This side of Huizhou is so calm and quiet, it’s the perfect peaceful getaway! Getting There - From Shenzhen it is a 2 hour drive, taking the high speed train is only 36 minutes. Attractions - Double Moon Bay has beautiful beach areas and so many instagrammable spots, some of which I have photographed above. I found these locations by simply driving around to random places and also by searching on Dianping. Hotels - Many hotels and apartment hotels along the beach. There are still more being built! Food & Restaurants - Restaurants are all around the little town, there are seafood and Chinese restaurants going down the main road and in the apartment hotel community you can find a few convenient stores. Personally feel that Shuangyue Bay is better than Tsuen Wan. Especially standing at the observation deck in the evening to look at Shuangyue Bay is more beautiful. It takes about 30 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the observation deck, and you can also take a motorcycle.
When I came here, it was a cloudy day without the sun. Occasionally it rained. There were not many people. The sea was very clean. The sea breeze was really pleasant. The scenery of the seaside was really nothing to say. I saw the sea. The whole person was quiet. The sea view room booked on Trip.com was very close to the sea. It takes two or three minutes to walk. It is also very good to take a family to the beach in a daze. Of course, there is no shortage of local specialty seafood. The seafood is not expensive. The per capita is about 100. It can be eaten very well.
Shuangyue Bay is located in Huidong County, Huizhou City. The sea is clear and blue, the beach is wide and flat, suitable for walking, beach volleyball and bathing the sun. The surrounding facilities are perfect. There are comfortable resort hotels, seafood restaurants and various water activities. It is an ideal place for vacation.
Not bad, it’s a short time of about an hour.
It’s good to see the sea. You can enjoy swinging for free at the beach. You can drive a motorboat and dive for money. It’s really comfortable to watch the sunrise and sunset, but especially the fruit and seafood on the roadside stalls that avoid lightning. It’s expensive. I would rather order takeaway and mark the price clearly.
Double Moon Bay is shaped like a two-wheeled crescent, so the name Shuangyue Bay is composed of two half-months adjacent to Daya Bay and Honghai Bay. The scenery that different bays can see is different. We went to Daya Bay at the time. Daya Bay can see the sunset, and Honghai Bay can see the sunrise. Therefore, if you are interested in sunset and sunrise, it is recommended to choose the bay to live according to your interests.
