I went to Fujian for a business trip and came to Quanzhou. Quanzhou is a city with multiple sects of temples at the same time. I came to Qingjing Temple to visit. This is the oldest existing Islamic temple created by Arab Muslims in China. It was built in the second year of the Northern Song Dynasty. The building is modeled on the form of the Islamic Chapel in Damascus, Syria, and the main buildings retained are the gate building, the chapel, and the Mingshan Church.
Qing jing temple of quanzhou is a good place to learn about the history of Islam in China and see the beautiful Arabic calligraphy done in Chinese style. you can also see the mosque there that had been built and lasted for over 1000 years , it was built for the Muslims traders who visited coastal China!
Qingjing Temple, not a Buddhist temple, but an ancient Islamic mosque. It is located in Tumen Street, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. It was built in the second year of the Northern Song Dynasty. It is the oldest existing mosque created in China by Arab Muslims who came to China for business. It is an important content of Quanzhou's list of World Heritage. The Qingjing Temple covers an area of more than 2,000 square meters, Islamic architectural style, geometric shape, arc-shaped doorway and window frame, and the architectural lines are very beautiful, showing Islamic architectural style. Under the sunset, high palm trees, fire-red gun battle flowers, all reflect the quieter and more beautiful temple...
The Islamic temple is very exotic, just on Tumen Street, next to Guanyue Temple and Fuwen Temple, very distinctive.
