The Poncheng Market is a large-scale small commodity market in Alexandria. There are a wide variety of small commodities sold here, most of which are handmade works by local craftsmen. They are very culturally distinctive and worth buying as a good tourist souvenir.
Wow! This place is a testament to the restoration of historic buildings! For years this was once a huge Sears department store in Ponce, then for many years it was used for other things like being a police station, but now it has been turned into a shopping and dining destination on Ponce de Leon Avenue, and it is so cool!!! The funky open space, concrete, freight elevators, the architecture is amazing! Then there is a food court that is like being on the streets of a foreign city with all kinds of ethnic food like French, Sachi, Korean, Indian, Italian, seafood, and more. There is also a rooftop with private spaces and unique shops! This is a fun trip, you can spend a few days exploring this place. We only spent a few hours in some shops and eating, but really enjoyed it this time!
Well worth a visit whether you come by foot, bike or car. The architecture and decor are interesting. Lots of food and coffee shops. People watching from windows or shops. Something for families.
