What travelers say:

The Split Archaeological Museum is not within the Old Town, leaving the Golden Gate and heading north, through the alley behind the National Theatre, about a 15-minute walk. The museum's complex consists of a chamber-outdoor corridor and a main building, where most of the artifacts excavated from the Dalmatian coast are stored. The preservation requirements for stone artifacts are not high, and a large number of exquisite sarcophagus sculptures and stone reliefs that should be used for the exterior decoration of the building are displayed in the outdoor enclosure. Interestingly, the museum ticket office is not near the entrance corridor, but inside the main building, which is through a large green space, and the main building is the main museum hall. Ancient Greek pottery, ancient Roman glass, and bone tools from earlier eras are displayed by age. Meanwhile, a large number of historical currency displays are also highlights of the museum.
