Sorrento, Italy: Where Sunshine Meets Medite
Sorrento, Italy, is a sun-drenched paradise perched atop dramatic cliffs overlooking the Bay of Naples. With its panoramic views of Mount Vesuvius and the Isle of Capri, Sorrento is a visual masterpiece. The town's historic center is a maze of charming alleyways, filled with boutiques, cafes, and artisan shops. Taste the famous limoncello liqueur, enjoy gelato by the sea, and take leisurely walks along the waterfront. Sorrento is the gateway to the Amalfi Coast, where the beauty of the Mediterranean unfolds in all its splendor.
Italian Positano, where mermaids reside in the sea. Travel guide and itinerary.
On Easter day, the weather forecast said it would rain, but it turned out to be sunny. How lucky! When the sun was out, it instantly felt like summer. The lemons on the roadside haven't fully bloomed yet, so I could only take pictures of the ones on the tree in scattered shops.
If you don't eat or swim 🏊♀️, you can explore the small town in two hours. You just need to keep climbing stairs, which can be a bit tiring since it's all mountain roads.
Here are some transportation tips.
I took the L21 to Sorrento from Naples train station (buy tickets at the manual window at the end of the underground floor of the station, next to the entrance, ask staff if unsure, timetable can be viewed on Google Maps).
Then, as soon as you come out of the Sorrento train station, you can see the bus stop for Positano, because the bus will be parked there or many people will be queuing there.
There are ticket booths at both ends of the train station.
I don't know if Easter in southern Italy counts as peak season, but I queued up early in the morning at around 8 o'clock and didn't get on the bus until after 9 o'clock! So make sure to arrive at the site earlier than your estimated departure time to queue up. There are really a lot of people and the bus is not big enough. If you go up later, you will have to stand the whole way, which will be very painful for people who get carsick. The driver's driving is also very dizzying (the European girl next to me vomited all the way...
For the return trip, you can buy the bus ticket at the stores marked with "sta", or pay online after boarding the bus.
If you want to stay longer in Southern Italy, you can live in Sorrento. This small town is also very beautiful and chill. I love Southern Italy and I want to stay here for a while in the future.
Italian Positano town, a colorful cliff town in a dream, nanny-level travel guide.
Positano is a small town located on the Costiera Amalfitana coast in the Campania region of Italy. The main part of the town is backed by mountains and faces the sea, and is distributed on the flat land between the mountains and the sea.
A writer described it as follows: Positano is a dreamland. When you are there, it doesn't feel very real, but after you leave, it becomes vivid. Scattered along the winding and twisting coastline are many picturesque towns, and the most beautiful one among them is Positano.
A small house slowly climbs up the mountainside from the seaside, painted in different colors, with flowers dotted on the cliffs. These colors are typical Mediterranean colors, mustard yellow, dark orange-red, and the sun deepens their depth. Walking on the winding paths is like a maze, and you can only adjust your pace to explore.
A trip to Positano for seclusion and vacation is definitely a good choice. Here, there are comfortable and luxurious boutique hotels. Seeing the beautiful cottages on the mountainside, enjoying the brilliant sunshine in the endless Mediterranean Sea, it's so comfortable that there's nothing to say. Whether it's on the beach or next to the hotel's swimming pool, there are many people enjoying sunbathing leisurely.
My itinerary: Napoli - Salerno - Amalfi - Positano - Sorrento - Napoli.
Napoli to Salerno: Train for 4.3 euros (40 minutes), buy tickets at Napoli train station.
Salerno to Amalfi: take the SITA bus, buy tickets at Salerno station, less than 3 euros (1 hour)
From Amalfi to Positano: take the SITA bus, buy tickets near Amalfi station, 2 euros (1 hour).
Positano to Sorrento: Buy tickets at the Positano ticket office for 2.9 euros (40 minutes).
Sorrento to Napoli: Buy tickets at Sorrento train station for 3.9 euros (one and a half hours).

Amalfi Coast Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Amalfi is the most charming coastal town in the world
Among the many coastlines in Italy,
the scenery of the Amalfi Coast is the most beautiful.
Located on the south side of the Sorrento Peninsula in southern Italy,
from Salerno to Positano, there are 14 coastal towns. In 1997, the Amalfi Coast
was listed as a 'Cultural Landscape World Heritage Site' by UNESCO.
🍀
One of the top ten most beautiful sights in the world,
together with the Greek islands, it is known as 'Paradise on Earth'. The sunset light permeates the entire sea, waves and sails,
the houses are scattered and shrouded in smoke, the crowd and vehicles on the cliff path are calm and peaceful, and the beauty is overwhelming.
🍀
There is a small town also called Amalfi.
The name of this town is also the source of the name of the Amalfi Coast.
From Positano along Salerno,
there is a bay road known as 'Lemon Street'.
Enjoying lemon sorbetto in Amalfi Coast 🍋
Getting There - Amalfi coast also known as Costiera Amalfitana is located near Sorrento and it is reachable by bus form Sorrento or boat.
Attractions - Vietri sul Mare, Maiori and Ravello are near Amalfi coast and easy to reach from here.
Hotels - Hotel miramalfi has sea access to Grotta Smeraldo located on the cliffside, it is a high rated property in Amalfi.

PATH OF THE GODS , ALMAFI COAST
PATH OF THE GODS, ALMAFI COAST
Dari kawasan pergunungan kita menuju ke pinggir lautan … dari utara minggir ke selatan. The famous Almafi Coast, a 50-kilometer stretch of coastline along the southern edge of Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula, in the Campania region. Kawasan dengan tebing tinggi di sepanjang pinggir laut yang menghubungkan penempatan tepi laut yang cukup terkenal, definitely one of the most beautiful part of Italy 🇮🇹 . The not so good thing is this place can be crowded and expensive especially in peak season.
So that’s why I choose to travel on the off season and the best way to explore this region in my opinion is by foot. Terdapat banyak hiking trails di sepanjang tebing tinggi pinggir laut dengan view yang cukup dramatic di antara bandar Almafi dan Positano but I choose the most famous—the Sentiero degli Dei or Path of the Gods!
This 8 kilometres hike between the village of Bomerano to Nocella, Positano and vice versa will take around 2 to 4 hours (depending on how many times you stops to take in all the views).
So how difficult it is? It’s can be easy to moderate difficulty… you find it easy if you are an experienced hiker … which I’m not and I find it was not too bad .. BUT … bare in mind that this hike is not for everyone and never ever underestimate the risks because some of the paths are rough, very exposed and narrow with loose stones. So be extra careful with your feet.
The important thing to know is it’s much easier to start your hike from the village Bomerano (easily reach by bus from Almafi) and end it in Nocella because the hike mostly downhill.
But if you up for something more challenging you can do it the opposite way 🤷🏼♂️.
I just love hiking/ tracking along the coastline - you’ll have epic seascapes, dramatic cliffs, and epic coastal scenery. I have a chance to do a few costal hike around Europe and here are my top 3 so far :
1. Fira to Oia, Santorini
2. Path of The Gods, Almafi Coast
3. Monterosso to Vernazza, Cinque Terre

A piece of heaven like ( Amalfi Coast)
in Campania region of Italy , there is a 50 kilometer beautiful coastline. the name is , Amalfi Coast. it is a UNesco world heritage and when i saw its photos i decided to go there for a few days and see with my eyes and take photos. Amalfi has also sky-high costal cliffs with a multicolored town. if you go via Ss163 highway, you have amazing view. its better someone drive and you see beatiful places and take photos. there are bus and boat shuttles services also. the first amazing place to visit is ( Positano) the most picturesque town in Amalfi coast. also visit (Marina Grande Beach). Amalfi town was nice also to visit. Winding Roads and Emerald Grotto were also great places. there are many cheap and mid price hotels there to stay. and also enjoy Italian restaurants. #beachlife #amalficoast #italy #trip #travelinspiration #touristsattraction

Amalfi Coast
Must-see attractions in Italy丨Amalfi Coast (Amalfi Coast)
The Amalfi Coast is a must-visit area in Southern Italy, of which Amalfi and Sorrento are two highlights.
If you have limited time, I recommend Surento first!
Reason 1: Convenient transportation🚅
Sorrento is a convenient base for exploring other nearby attractions. If you want to go to Capri Island and Pompeii, you can easily arrange it, but Amalfi is more inconvenient.
Reason 2: Scenery 🏞️
While both towns are on the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento has something unique to offer. Amalfi can walk around for an hour, it's really a bit small.
Reason 4: Diverse dining options🍝
There are many seafood restaurants here, so you can eat delicious food and enjoy a slow-paced holiday, so that you have more time to relax.
Of course, it's best to go there when you have time!

When it comes to food, Naples is destined to be a connoisseur of pizza. The pizza that the world knows is originated from here, and only Naples can bring the taste of the pizza to the extreme, which makes the Naples and pizza equal. I don't want to say anything more. "I haven't eaten a pizza in Naples. It's not enough to talk about life." At present, there is still time for the foodies to listen to the chicken soup of the soul and the originator of the pizza. In any case, in 2015, Italy applied for pizza as a human intangible cultural heritage and sworn sovereignty to the world. Naples in Italy is the origin of pizza (the legendary Italian traveler Marco Polo traveled around China and never miss China). The taste of the pie was found by the chef to imitate it according to the method described. But the chef did not know how to wrap the filling in the noodles and had to sprinkle it directly on the cake, thus giving birth to this Italian Pie. ).
Even if someone doesn't like pizza, there are thousands of ways to keep the food in Naples. When you are tempting fresh seafood, sweet fruit, or imported Capri cake, you can feed your body and soul with the pasta of the authentic Neapolitan bolognese, and then fall in the lemon sweet. The wine is in the middle of it.
