What people are saying:

Iceland’s Golden Waterfall is ten kilometers north of Gogil Geyser. It is the favorite waterfall of Icelanders and one of the famous waterfalls in Europe. The water splashed from the falling waterfall fills the sky, forming rainbows under the sunlight. As if the entire waterfall was forged with gold, the sight is so magnificent that tourists linger.

    Frozen Falls

I was surprised how close the falls are to the visitor center and parking lot, thankfully, for us winter visitors. The wind and cold here are serious in March, bring warm clothes.

Additional Information

Introduction

The Gullfoss is one of the must-see attractions to visit Iceland. The river flows down from a height of tens of meters. There are two levels of falling. It looks like two rainbows, running along the rift valley. The scene is very The spectacular, because of the rapid flow of water, looks golden, hence the name. If after a heavy rain, you will see a big rainbow across the waterfall. A monument was set up next to the waterfall to commemorate the insistence on a lawsuit against the government and the refusal to build a hydropower station in the civilian women. The lawsuit won and only left this spectacular waterfall for future generations.
