What people are saying:

Split City Museum is an unremarkable old-fashioned building hidden in the lively old city. After passing through a small courtyard, it is the front desk of the museum. Visitors to the museum have no one other than us, and they have become a chartered venue. As the largest port on the coast of Central Dalmatia, the city of Split developed entirely around the seaport. Through the excavation of Roman stone carvings, navigation materials from the Middle Ages, and the display of the furniture of the noble class, the history of maritime trade development centered on Split can be seen.

Hidden in the heart of the city

We came across this museum quite by accident. It tells the story of the city over 3 floors of exhibits. If you want a little bit of time away from the crowds I suggest that you duck in here for a quic...

Interesting to see and read about Split’s history

This is a great little museum that brings to life Split’s founding and development. It was good to understand the early stories and then onto more recent history. You only need 45 minutes to see every...
