Mount Victoria on the coast of Wellington is a large area with many entrances to the mountain. Mount Victoria is known as the lungs of the city. The mountains are covered with green plants and there are many ancient plants. A bird’s eye view of the coast from the mountain is very beautiful. There is a viewing platform on the top of the mountain. We went up the mountain on foot. There are bus stops and large parking lots on the top of the mountain. The locals walk their dogs, run, and ride bicycles. There are not many tourists. The air is fresh and it feels very good. There are no managers along the way and it is very clean. Pay attention to maintaining the environment on the mountain.
Mount Victoria, located in the southwestern part of Wellington, preserves the offices used by Prime Minister Seton from 1893 to 1906. Seton had an important influence on New Zealand’s political legislation. He made New Zealand the first country in the world where women have the right to vote.
From 1769 to 1777, Cook arrived in New Zealand 5 times. The Caingaro National Artificial Forest on the north of Mount Victoria covers an area of 150,000 hectares and stretches for more than 100 kilometers. It is one of the largest artificial forests in the world.
This mountain is the most convenient place for climbing around Wellington. After climbing to the top of the mountain, it is actually a large viewing platform. You can see the city and the seaside. The whole landscape is very good and popular among tourists. Welcome.
Walking up was absolutely worth it however we did do it on a lovely sunny day with little wind. Stunning views.
Can't beat Mt Vic on a good day. Lots of lovely walkingn and biking trails around the hills with amazing views of the city from most spots. Take your camera!
Mount Victoria is a prominent hill, overlooking Wellington for really beautiful scenic views with crystal blue water.
On a hot Wellington day, when you take the number 20 from Courtenay place to this lookout point (I was never going to walk) the views from this place are absolutely stunning! You can see all of Wellin...
A diverse range of MTB tracks. Good fun for a whole afternoon. Nice and close to the City Center. Recomended.
