The Eastern Water City of Venice is located on Bai Juyi Pier in Bai Juyi Memorial Hall, at No. 18 Shantang Street, Jinchang District, Suzhou City. Suzhou has always been known as the Venice of the East and a boat ride experience here is not to be missed. Shantang Street begins from Duseng Bridge at Changmen Gate in the east, and runs west towards Wangshan Bridge on the famous Tiger Hill of Suzhou, totaling about seven miles in length, thus the common Suzhou saying, "Seven miles of Shantang to the Tiger Hill". The streets of Shantang are a seamless integration between water and land, river and streets, with exquisite buildings lined up or clustered along the streets, reproducing the scenes of prosperity of Shantang Street.
