Suzhou City God Temple is a Taoist temple located in the old city section of Suzhou. First constructed in 1370 during the Ming Dynasty, the temple site has been expanded and destroyed several times since. The present temple site housed a factory in 1958 before restorations in 1995 and 2004 resulted in the present structures and configuration. The main hall of the temple is dedicated to honor the city god of Suzhou and plays an important role in the local Taoist traditions.
