It is one of the largest Buddhist temples in the history of Wujiang area. Before the Tang Dynasty, the Buddhist Temple was centered on the pagoda, and after the Tang Dynasty, it gradually began to center on the Daxiong Palace. Then by Shanyang County to hear about the court, Kangxi issued an edict and burial, sent ministers to preside over the tea, rebuilt "Ciyun Ancient" and build "Fawang Pagoda". In the twenty-third year of Kangxi (1684), an inscription "Nengren State Teacher Taming" was written by Wang Xi, a Bachelor of Baohe Temple and an official of the Ministry of Rites. Historically, the Ciyun Chan Temple was recorded as the National Teacher's Pagoda, which was later destroyed for various reasons. Now the National Teacher's Pagoda is designed by Wu Zhaozhao, a well-known master of ancient garden design in China. It is a nine-storey, eight-sided Pagoda with a total floor area of 3680 square meters and a height of 62 meters. It means to commemorate the 62-year-old Yulin National Teacher's death. The Guoshi Tower is divided into four parts: underground palace, tower foundation, tower body and tower top. It adopts frame core tube structure and frame structure. The Guoshi Pagoda is a perfect combination of splendor and majesty, adhering to the regional characteristics of ancient historical temples, supplemented by the architectural style of Ming and Qing Dynasties. At present, it has become an indispensable landscape on both sides of the canal.
