Since ancient times, there have been Jinyangmen in Suzhou. According to the theory of Yinxumen, Wu Zixu was framed and killed by a treacherous minister and let Wu Wang Fuchai hang his eyes on the city gate. He wanted to see the army of Yue destroy Wu kingdom with his own eyes. Xumen is the only city gate without water gate in Suzhou. It is also one of the best gates in Suzhou to maintain its primitive style. From the roots of the brick wall, we can see that it is a section of city wall for many years. Xumen was originally a city of urns. It was demolished during the Republic of China, but now there is still a very high layer of traces. Tickets are free.
Among the eight gates of the ancient city of Suzhou, Xumen is the most legendary one, named for Wu Zixu, a famous Minister of the State of Wu. This time, I also visited Xumen specially. Of course, this is not the gate of the Spring and Autumn Period, and according to the introduction here is one of the eight gates of Helu City, in fact, where Helu City is now controversial. Now Xumen's city building has been demolished. The existing entrance is composed of three brick arch coupons. The height of the arch is 4.65 meters. Here, we can see the canal rolling out of the Xumen Gate, which is very green. In fact, in this nostalgia, the memory of the predecessors is worth this trip.
It has a long history, a good route, a beautiful environment and not many people. The climate here is very mild. No tickets, free of charge. Come here anytime, anywhere, during the day. Well, it's not hot here. You can walk, run and dance here at night. They are all good places.
Xumen is one of the eight ancient city gates in Suzhou, and Xumen is famous for hanging Wu Zixu's skull on the gate. It is also the best city gate in Suzhou to maintain its original style. Nearby, there are Wannianqiao and Wu Zixu statues, which are now free attractions.
The tour guide took us by and highlighted the public toilets that had been built next to us for eight million dollars.
The city gate named after Wu Zixu and a small square are worth visiting.
Xumen is one of the eight ancient city gates in Suzhou. According to legend, the earliest city of Suzhou was designed by Wu Zixu. The contending historical background of Wu and Yue 2500 years ago filled the city with historical atmosphere. Some ancient city walls are being maintained, and the riverside walkway has been well built, which is a good place for hiking.
Xumen Baihuazhou Park, one of the monuments of Wu State in the Spring and Autumn Period, is a place for flower appreciation and recreation throughout the year. This beautiful place surrounded by the moat integrates celebrities, historic sites, nature and rhyme of water with local cultural characteristics. It has become the first choice for citizens to walk on weekdays and an important stop for tourists to explore the history of Suzhou. Standing on the secluded ancient walls or arch bridges and looking at the near scenery, Suzhou is full of charm.
