The suburb of Watson's Bay is a delightful little undiscovered gem. Thanks to a local’s recommendation, my roommate and I took off on a ferry and docked on the tiny peninsula of Watson’s Bay. Aside from a seafood restaurant, pretty little harbor, and itty bitty stretch of sandy beach, we initially wondered what else there was to do. But just hike up through the park in the middle of town to the ocean side of the peninsula (it’s a 5-10 minute walk, don’t worry) and you’ll see why the locals recommend it: the views are spectacular. Walk along the cliffs and climb up to the lookout point, where you are greeted with a salty ocean breeze, sweeping views of the South Pacific on one side, and the city skyline of Sydney on the other.
Beautiful place to recharge and quiet the mind, in Watson's Bay, then on the walk the view of the cliffs and the sea breeze/gale invigorrates you!!
Have some time to spare in Sydney? Catch a Sydney Ferry from Circular Quay and take a 30 minute ride to Watson's Bay. Relax in style taking in the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and then to one to three short stops along the way.At Watson's Bay take a short stroll to the sandstone cliff face. Take in the heads, enjoy 180 degree ocean views. Feeling hungry, head back to the wharf and enjoy a bite at the Watson's Bay Pub, or bring your own picnic. Best time to head back to the city... Sunset as you will be heading west and will catch spectacular views of the city.
A very beautiful place at the ends of Sydney. Looking at the sea, I was thinking, if I was given a swimming ring, could I swim back to my country, and when this damn epidemic would end. There were no people there today, only the endless sea, with the sea breeze blowing, and listening to the sound of the waves, I felt very comfortable. Parking around is also very convenient, there is a cafe at the entrance, and there is a hut on the beach where you can buy sandwiches and drink coffee. It’s really good to take the kids to swim. I saw someone go fishing today, next time I will bring my tools to go fishing again.
