Susannah Place Museum would be able to offer something different and refreshing, compares to the others historic places which are spread all over Sydney. When most of the prominent historic buildings offer various magnificent architecture styles and show the wealthiness and glory it has carried for over decades, Susannah Place represents the perseverance of working class community in The Rocks and their modest life in 19th century. A tour in Susannah Place brings the visitor closer to the community ways of life with the limited remain evidence.

Let you understand the living conditions of the working class at that time~ Although it was an old house with three compartments, the guide inside showed us that all the bricks and furnishings of the middle-class life at that time were preserved. Usually, we see a lot in the back door. People take wedding photos and sit and take pictures at the back door, but I didn’t expect to be able to understand the life of the former working class after a few years. After a few years, the kitchen and bathroom have changed. Hot water is burning outside. Here you can see the rocks. The past and present lives of the district.

Enjoyed this trip very much. Learned a lot about the history of rocks. These houses are like time capsules, showing the changes in furniture and facilities over the years. I want to praise Ted. He has always maintained that we can participate in this great journey, and he is humorous and he can handle problems well.
It's really a good place to visit! Usually I am not keen on going to museums, but this "living museum" is a place I will always recommend. I took my elderly parents to visit. Fortunately to have Marguerite as our tour guide, we thought she was very beautiful, very knowledgeable and charming. The whole journey only takes about an hour, including watching a short video, and visiting four (small) villas. The furniture inside is from different periods, from the early 1800s to the 1970s. Stories, videos and photos from different people who have lived here really bring this museum to life. Tickets are only $8, and I haven't found anything more interesting that you can do with $8! You can also go to the small store-as it was just established-to find a memory.
