Located next to the Royal Botanic Park, the territory to the right of the city center covers a very large area of about 34 hectares. Since its opening in the 1830s, it has mainly hosted large-scale outdoor performances, such as the Sydney Art Festival, Jazz Festival, and opera. Most of the territory is covered with grass. On the day of the visit, I passed from the New South Wales Library to the Art Gallery. It was very windy and rainy, and only young people were playing flying saucers.
Great place to chill out and escape the crazy CBD area. Different musical events held here also.
A large open area for walking, with views of the harbor. A great place to get lost with a book, but bring your camera too.
used to be a great place to just chill and listen to e1 on their soap box
This is a huge grassy part of the Gardens that's devoted to big outdoor concerts, opera, film festivals etc. It's loads of fun to go with friends to one of these events. Mostly happening in the summer. I saw the Sydney Symphony play, saw an opera and have also attended Tropfest for several years. This is the biggest outdoor short film festival in the world. But, go early in the day and camp out with friends, food and wine to get a good spot for the films!
