About Taicang: The port city of Taicang, located in the southeastern part of Jiangsu Province, is a typical “land of fish and rice" in the Jiangnan region. Taicang has a long history. It was named so because the King of Wu set up a granary here and “Taicang” means “royal granary.” Taicang has produced talented people throughout the years, including the great writer Zhang Wei, modern physicist Wu Jianxiong, Chinese painting master Zhu Qizhan and several other celebrities. The national first-class port of Taicang has become an integral part of the Shanghai International Shipping Center, and COSCO International City has settled in the development zone in Taicang.
