Taicang Museum

Taicang Museum is a comprehensive museum reflecting the local history of Taicang. Founded in 1987, it is the first county (city) museum established in Jiangsu Province. The main exhibitions of Taicang Museum are distributed in Zhang Pu's former residence and Wang Xijue's former residence. The former residence of Zhang Pu was built in the Tianqi period of the Ming Dynasty. There are three front and rear entrances. The whole set of construction technology is excellent, the layout is reasonable, the buildings are corresponding, and the buildings are connected. Wang Xijue was the head of the Wanli Dynasty in the Ming Dynasty. His former residence was built in the Wanli period. There is one gatehouse and five rooms in width. The gatehouse is unique in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces. The cultural relics in the Taicang Museum include pottery, porcelain, bronze, jade, coins, calligraphy and painting and many other categories. Over the years, cultural relics protection, publicity and education have been carried out, and research on cultural relics in the collection, local history, and maritime history has been strengthened. There are four basic exhibitions in the museum: the Fushe Memorial Hall, the Cultural Relics Exhibition Hall, the Taicang History Hall of Fame, and the "Four Kings" Memorial Hall. In addition, various temporary exhibitions are held from time to time.
