Ximending is by the the biggest and busiest shopping district I have been into. It has everything, from clothing stores, to Buddhist shrines, to cool restaurants. When I was there, I was able to buy a couple of clothes because their clothing prices were quite reasonable. I also had my dinner in the famed Toilet Restaurant. I ordered a lot including the huge toilet bowl of Pork Soup set, a dessert, and the an iced tea, and my total bill was only NTD490. It was such an affordable meal, and you can find that affordable yet full servings meal in Ximending.
It is a night market with shopping malls everywhere. Near Cinema also! Lot's of food and things to choose. Very friendly people. Lot's of choices of souvenirs can be bought here. Can compare to SHIBUYA in TOkYo maybe because of the branded shopping malls here, while they're having a night market also. It's so fun in here!
The feels of Bangkok weekend market but make the temperature cooler. It's nice ti walk around the area and buy souvenirs.
An "IN" place where all young Taiwanese would love to hangout. Full of youthful spirits and energy. If you are in Taipei, don't miss it.. There are a lot of artzy cute handmade collectable items for you to explore at the Redhouse surrounding area and plenty of intresting yummy food at Ximending. At the same time get yourself expose in their Tv entertainment programs. There are a lot of musical dancing video shooting at Ximending (especially weekends and public holidays). Don't forget to look out for the street artists performances, *street artists from all over the world* fly in to Taipei just to get a chance to make appearance in Ximending. Ximending is the place where star hunters/model hunters like to spot for new faces.
