Taipei Ximending is popular for its fashionable style. There are many young people walk on the street and I can feel the youth as well. 😊
Personally I think the food is not very tasty maybe because I not a street food lover. As for the brands, there are no discounts and they are more expensive than in my country. I recommend to go Honglou which is also pretty good and artistic with rich culture.🤪🥳
"Taipei Hotel in Taipei" is located on the bank of the Danshui River, Sanxi Intersection, and the hotel is located in the Ximending shopping district. At the hotel you can count on the Tamsui River, the Round Mountain and the adjacent Ximen shopping district. The hotel is newly opened. The design is unique in art style and the facilities are novel and intelligent. The hotel has more than 80 exquisite rooms, including 3 suites. The rooms range in size from 20 to 60 square meters. The elegant design lines and Italian-inspired tiles and ebony design bases make you feel understated and tasteless. The hotel's breakfast is available in Chinese, Western and Japanese. There are many specialty snack bars around the hotel. It is very convenient to eat, travel and shop here.
Ximending is named after the West Gate of Taipei City. In the era of the Japanese rule, Ximending was originally a desolate place. Later, the Japanese decided to follow the Asakusa area in Tokyo and set up a leisure business district.
Before the 1980s, Ximending was the long-standing representative of Taipei's most prosperous entertainment pop. Between 1980 and 2000, as the city of Taipei gradually developed eastward, the status of Ximendings business district experienced a decline, a few degrees. After 2000, with the opening of the MRT Bannan Line, the construction of the Zhonghua Road Boulevard, and the reconstruction of the Ximen characteristic business district, and the special elements of its past glory, the Ximen business circle entered another stage of recovery, and clearly Become a representative of adolescent subculture and a place for international sightseeing backpackers to visit.
During the Japanese occupation period, the Governor's Office of Taiwan planned the open space near the west gate of Taipei City as the residence of Japanese people, called Ximending. Nowadays it has become a shopping destination, and some Taiwanese stars will meet here. Needless to say, Ximending is delicious. We usually come back here to go shopping or watch movies.
What I particularly like is that there are clothes on this shopping street, there are fun crafts, and there are special special crafts, which are all for visitors to return home and buy a favorite gift.
Ximending is known as the “Harajuku” in Taipei and is a paradise for the “Japanophiles” in Taipei. Ximending is Taipei's first pedestrian commercial street that sells various popular Japanese books, records, and costumes. It has become a representative of a youth subculture and a place for international tourists to visit. Ximending is also a famous movie street that is a good place for watching major movie premiers. Almost every weekend, there are small concerts, autograph signing events, albums release events, as well as various movie promotions and street performances.
