This richly historical district in Ouro Preto, Brazil is home to some of the city's most vibrant cultural attractions. The birthplace of the Inconfidencia Mineira, an independence movement of the 1790s, and named after its founder, Tiradentes Plaza features the Museu da Inconfidencia, dedicated to the memory of the revolt, and the Museu de Ciencia e Technica, noted for its collection of beautiful minerals from the local mines. You can attend shows or simply enjoy the atmosphere in one of the neighborhood's theaters or cafes, or bring the ritz in one of the ballroom dancing venues.

Mountain
8:00-19:00 (Local time)
Located on the east side of the Chijuca National Forest, Jesus Mountain was built to commemorate the success of the Brazilian independence movement. From a distance, it seems to welcome and embrace people coming to Brazil. When the weather is fine during the day, you can see the image of Jesus in any corner of Rio. When the night falls, the white light on the image of Jesus will match the urban landscape of the mountain, which is psychedelic and solemn.

It was originally an average cement stairway in the slums, the Chilean artist George Selelon refurbished it with tiles recovered from the rubbish, and later added donations from local tourists and his own creations. Each of the more than 200 steps is a painting. On both sides of the steps, it is also a wall with different heights created by tiles. The backgrounds of these two sides are red, and various patterns are spelled out in different colors. Each tile is a story. Some of the tiles on the steps are divided into two pieces, which are respectively attached to the upper and lower steps. When they are put together, they make a complete picture when viewed from the side.

The Rosinian slums are located on the mountainside of Mount Jesus, facing the beautiful Ipanema Beach, and you can see the Christ Jesus statue of the New Seven Wonders when looking out from the window. Not far from here are high-rise apartments and luxury commercial buildings. Just a stone's throw away from the bustling scene, the view is completely different, constructing a unique style of Rio de Janeiro. It is the archetype of the ghetto in the movie City of God.
