Trogir is a famous example of the continuity of the city. The Basilica of St. Lawrence was originally in Roman style, and later it was modified by adding Gothic and Renaissance features. The cathedral adjoins the city hall, which is one of the most beautiful buildings in Trogir, built from the 14th to the  15th century. There are many religious buildings in Trogir.
The St. Lawrence Church in Trogir has the reputation of "the most beautiful church porch in Europe". This church has an important position in Croatia. The whole church has a collection of Gothic, Romanesque, Renaissance, Venetian and other architectural styles, which are very exquisite.
