Sidi Bou Said Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
STUNNING WHITEWASHED VILLAGE 💙🤍
This is Sidi Bou Said. Perched on top of a steep cliff and surrounded by breathtaking Mediterranean views, it's the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of the Tunisian capital and a favored getaway destination for locals and visitors alike. The town's cobbled streets are lined with art shops, souvenir stalls, and quaint cafés. Brilliant blue-painted doors and trellises contrast beautifully with the pure white of Sidi Bou Said's Grecian buildings, and the air is scented with trailing bougainvillea.
For many visitors, the most rewarding way to spend time in Sidi Bou Said is simply to stroll through the Old Town, exploring winding side streets and stopping to explore the town's art galleries, studios, and restaurants at leisure. The sidewalks are lined with stalls, whose wares include hand-crafted souvenirs and bottles of fragrant jasmine. Make sure that your wanderings take you up to the lighthouse, where spectacular Gulf of Tunis views awaits! explore tunis peeps. xxx

Sidi Bou Said is a small village in #tunisia , northern #africa which is all in white and blue. The law says that all the buildings should be in these and only these colours and this saves the authentical style of the place. It was really enjoyable even not big at all. There were many touristy cafés around and also many organized tours.

Finally came to Tunisia, the northernmost country of the African continent, this beautiful country surrounded by the Mediterranean, facing the warm sea breeze of the Mediterranean, walking in the charming blue and white town, in a pure world, enjoying the tranquility of the monochrome world, seeing It will look at the millennium!
In the blue and white town of Sidi bou Said in Tunisia, I lived for a little half a month~ this is a small town where Europeans and Americans often travel.
Rent a house in the hill, look at the sea every day, breakfast on the balcony, stroll around the street, read a book about sailing in the afternoon, go to bar at night to listen to music, see people come and go ~
I often watch the rain in Tunisia, I miss the Caribbean Sea, the days are comfortable blue and white ~
Many people come here for a day trip, but I suggest staying for a night or two.
It is located in Tunisia for about an hour. Public transport is also very convenient. You can take the light rail TGM from Tunis Marine in Tunis, and you can reach this small town on the cliffs of the Mediterranean Sea in about 40 minutes.
There is no such tourist attraction as Santorini, and in general it is quiet, suitable for a meditation sun.

Hammamet Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
OH MY HAMMAMET YOU ARE SO PARADISE! 🇹🇳
Hammamet lies on the Mediterranean coast in north Tunisia, a popular tourist resort famed for its endless beaches and wonderfully preserved medina. The town has passed through many different hands – Punic, Roman, Islamic, Spanish, Turkish and French, each leaving their own architectural legacy. The seawalls date back to the 13th century, the medina to the 15th and many of the elegant whitewashed houses were built in the era of French rule. Hammamet has attracted plenty of discerning visitors over the years, including Sophia Loren, Winston Churchill and Andre Gide. Most famously it was painted by the great Paul Klee, whose ‘Hammamet with Its Mosque’ of 1914 hangs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. A MUST PLACE TO VISIT! 🏝️

Medina of Tunis Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
The neighborhood of Medina of Tunis is located at the capital of the country #tunisia - the city of #tunis and yes it is really nice place. The guide told us many interesting stories about how the people lived here 100 years ago. Nowadays the town is well kept and easily shows the tradition of this nation. It is a must when you visit this country. It needs just few hours to be explored...

Tunisia's dinner is about slow food, drink appetizers, staple foods, desserts, and orderly. During a chat with my family, my main dish, Couscus, was on the table. I saw that its overall color is yellow-brown, in addition to the shrimp and fish mutton, a large, fried green pepper lying on the yellow, this green is the highlight of the whole dish.
Green pepper is not spicy, the taste is the cooking method of oily oysters. I took a spoon and took a sip of Couscous. The wheat was stewed with turmeric, garlic and onion. The entrance was soft and some were close to millet. Taste. Fried green pepper is the best dish of Berber, and turmeric is the favorite spice in this country. It tastes slightly spicy, can drive cold, and can prevent high blood pressure. It is not difficult to see it in various dishes. . Needless to say, the freshness of the mutton, I saw that the flocks of Tunisia were all kept away, and the entrance was not smelly at all. Eating seafood is a custom left in the Carthage dynasty. Carthage is a large maritime country, and squid and prawns are often used for food.
Tunisia is a country suitable for wandering, and I am indulging in a four-wheel drive. Looking at the rocky deserts on both sides, passing quickly through the window. I wandered through the innocent sand dunes and looked for an oasis of desert. I sat in a sloppy cafe and listened to the rhythm of the Mediterranean. Or inadvertently smashing Berbers, they looked at me with warm eyes, held me with warm hands, asked me to listen to them about ancient legends. Finally, walking in Medina with no purpose, let the warm sun shine on the colorful carpet and paint a beautiful picture. All these beautiful adventures made me infatuated with Tunisia.
Hello, Tunisian city, do you know that you are so beautiful? !
The city on the other side of Sicily in North Africa, the capital of Tunisia, the city of Tunis, is a universe better than I imagined!
Fortunately, I have reserved enough time here to step on Tunisia Time to feel the place~
get up early in the courtyard for breakfast, then go to Medina to hang out. There is a granny holding my hand and boasting that I look good. The boss who passed the shop selling lights called me princess. A cute little brother grabbed a kitten to let me touch it~ I watched the sunset on the rooftop in the evening~
Everything is beautiful and friendly, that is, the Tunisian city I have experienced ~
Come on, now I can change my name to the Princess of Tunisia in North Africa~ I have doubled it for this.

Amphitheater of El Jem Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
El Jem Amphitheatre in Tunisia
Visiting Tunisia, one must go to El Jem, a small town near the city of Sousse, which boasts one of the world's best-preserved Roman amphitheatres, a splendid architectural legacy of the Roman Empire in Africa.
The amphitheatre's walls stand 36 meters high, with a major axis of 148 meters and a minor axis of 122 meters, forming an oval shape that can accommodate around 40,000 spectators at once, with private boxes included. There is a protective wall inside the arena to prevent spectators from getting injured.
The front seats were reserved for nobility, the middle for respected citizens with status, and the rear area for the common people to watch.
Today, the El Jem Amphitheatre becomes Tunisia's most important cultural venue once again as it hosts the summer arts festival.
tip
Tickets are 12 DT (approximately 28 RMB in Chinese currency).
Come quickly, this is the least crowded ancient Roman amphitheatre in the world, without a doubt! El Jem Amphitheatre
The only ancient Roman amphitheater that can be visited underground
On March 22, 238 AD, the governor of the Roman Empire's African province (Africa, roughly in today's northern Tunisia and western Libya's Mediterranean coastal area) declared himself emperor in the newly built El Jem Amphitheater, known as Gordian I.
Gordian I, who had served as the commander of the Syrian region, the governor of the British province, and the Roman city official, was famous and wealthy, and loved to watch beast performances. After being arranged by Emperor Alexander Severus to go to North Africa, Gordian I built the El Jem Amphitheater in imitation of the Roman Amphitheater. The city of Jem (then called Thysdrus) where the amphitheater is located is the second largest city after Carthage.
The El Jem Amphitheater is the only ancient Roman amphitheater in the world that can be visited underground.
The corridors on both sides of the underground palace are compartments for imprisoning slaves and beasts. Here, the rights of beasts are greater than human rights, 10 people are squeezed into a compartment, and beasts can enjoy single rooms. Like the Roman Amphitheater, the underground palace here is equipped with a winch-type lifting device that can send gladiators and beasts to the ground arena; the sewer system is responsible for discharging the dirty water that washes the corpses out of the field.
Amazing El Jem Tunisia
This piece of history is amazing, built after the rome theater, which looks like a mini version of it 🙏🙏🙏
when we arrived, the big theater looked empty, only us and a few others, so, we could enjoy ourselves completely 🙃
El Djem is used for gladiator movies a long time ago 😁😎😆
El Djem,is listed by UNESCO since 1979 as a World Heritage Site😆❤😆😁🙏💪👍😎😎#tunisie #eldjem
After going to Rome several times, I have been full of yearning for the aerial shooting of the Colosseum. However, the Italian air traffic control is still relatively strict, especially in Rome, it is even more impossible to fly, but once people move their minds, it is very difficult to sneak away. Sitting in the emergency exit position like a plane, the flight attendant repeatedly warns you not to touch the door of the emergency exit, but sometimes you can't help it, you want to touch it, the self-made power arrives safely, and the airport police station with poor self-control is waiting for you. .
In fact, if you don't fly the drone, I think the Colosseum ground is more difficult to shoot, or it may be because I arrived at noon, the light is not very good, and I don't have a long skirt. The sister is accompanying, I think it is more suitable for the girl, or when the sunrise is in the evening, I dont know if it will light up at night, because there is nothing else in this place except the Colosseum, I will not stay until the evening. So if someone takes a night view of the Colosseum, let me see it.

Tozeur Market Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Tuni Stozel

Tunisia Trip | The Town of Dates, Tozeur
🔛 Continuing the Tunisia trip
Citywalk The Town of Dates - Tozeur,
is the largest oasis city on the edge of the Sahara Desert,
I've been to three oases before, and they were all very beautiful.
The ancient city's buildings are made of beige bricks,
which are made by burning date palm branches into ash, adding it to clay, and firing it again.
The ancient city in the streets has a sense of time travel,
and in some ways, it's quite similar to the ancient city of Kashgar in Xinjiang.
-
The ancient city's market atmosphere is not overly commercial,
there are just some local, everyday life scenes.
Walking through the narrow, sun-drenched alleys to the ancient city,
looking up, the trees that looked like coconut trees are actually date palms.
Young teenagers wearing slippers riding motorcycles,
pass by us, with curiosity in their eyes;
I don't know where a group of local children came from,
laughing and surrounding me,
I quickly called my friends to help me take a photo,
the strange Chinese face is also a curiosity to them,
but they are not afraid, they chatted with us in English for a few sentences,
and even tried to invite the boys among us to play football, laughing so happily.
-
🕌 The ancient city is not particularly large, there's no special strategy,
we passed by the mosque, visited the local craft market,
bought some characteristic bags and fridge magnets, as well as dates
all of which you can haggle over the price a bit,
the artworks hanging in the alleyways,
with a touch of local artistic flavor,
I really like this small city, slow and gentle.
Tunisian desert gateway, the romance and oasis spectacle of Tozeur
🚗Continue self-driving from Kairouan, next stop: Sahara Desert. As the city of rest before we enter the hinterland of the desert, Tozeur has the title of "Desert Gateway" and is also the oasis city of Tunisia. In the vast desert of yellow sand, the fertile soil is so abundant with water and grass, it's really rare.
🌴Here you can not only feel the roughness and desolation of the desert, but also the spectacular scenery of the oasis. This is the location of the "Star Wars" shooting, and also the best place for sweet dates. The small city is covered with a date palm forest of 1,000 hectares. For many years, people have been irrigating this land with underground spring water, maintaining the fragile ecological balance of this oasis.
🏔️On the mountains in the desert around the city of Tozeur, there are also several scenic spots with unique "mountaintop oases", with Chebika, Tamerza, and Mides oases being the most famous, and we went to two of them.
1️⃣Chebika is the first mountaintop oasis to arrive. Climbing to the top of the mountain along the trail behind the mountain, you can overlook the source of the entire oasis, and you can also overlook the entire cityscape of Tozeur. Following the downhill trail, listening to the gurgling spring water surging in the depths of the valley, watching the small waterfall formed between the cliffs, nourishing this land, it is a paradise in the yellow earth.
2️⃣Tamerza Oasis, not far from Chebika, inside is the Mides Gorge, which is only one kilometer from the Algerian border. The natural combination of high mountain desert and oasis is spectacular and gorgeous.
This was the location for the shooting of the film "The English Patient", which won nine awards at the 69th Oscars. This film, constructed by desert, airplane, map, war, mural and Hungarian ballad, is known as "soft as oil painting". Here, you can feel the romantic feelings in the desert spreading.
👫The temperature in Tozeur this season is just right, not cold or hot. There are stalls selling souvenirs and food in the scenic area. For the first time, I saw desert roses and amethyst raw stones, and for the first time I drank fresh juice squeezed from authentic Tunisian soft-seeded pomegranates. Sitting in the sun outdoors in front of low stone walls and rough houses, chatting with friends and newly met locals, is our way of communicating with the world, and it's an afternoon worth freezing in time.
