Friendship of Nations Arch

The Ukrainian-Russian Friendship Arch, built in 1982 in a park on the north side of Horixia Avenue, has a radius of 50 meters. It faces the Dnieper River behind it and has a grandstand in front of it. Below are statues commemorating the friendship between Ukraine and Russia, beside which are ochre carvings commemorating the Ukrainian representatives who helped promote cooperation between Ukraine and Russia in 1654, like hills. After nightfall, friendship arch lights up like a rainbow.

When I went to Russia, the relations between Russia and Ukraine were already very bad. There were no direct flights between Russia and Ukraine. The flights between China and Ukraine were also two hours longer than before because of flying around Russia. Is there any need for the existence of Russian-Ukrainian friendship arch? The arch is a bit spectacular from a distance. There are two giant black and brown sculptures under the arch. Standing on the square guard wall beside the arch, you can see the broad Dnieper River and its left and right bank scenery under your feet.

It's a socialist object, so I definitely wanted to take a closer look, but unfortunately it was under construction. It was a monument with a theater-like figure under the rainbow.
